Vinyl Records

In the past year or two, I've noticed that vinyls are getting popular again. My parents have a few old school vinyls with spanish songs on them, but the ones I have purchased on my own have been the ones pictured above from Pierce the Veil.

I'm currently trying to get my hands on the Paramore album on vinyl because a lot of their songs on the new album have this kind of sound that I can just picture sounding amazing on a record player. I've been a fan of Paramore since about 2007 but I hadn't kept up with their music for a while. When I heard that they were coming to Madison Square Garden in November I automatically bought tickets for my sister and I even without knowing their new songs. I went and enjoyed it even though I couldn't sing along to the new songs. The next day I starting listening to the new album and it's all I listen to now. The pictures above are from the concert, if you'd to see more, you can visit my flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosyyrosee/

Also, does anyone own a Crosley record player? I've been wanting one for a while and I just want to know if they're any good.

That's all for this post, I'll try to update this more often lol.

Thanks for reading!

Starting school...

After high school, I didn't start college right away like most people do. I will be starting in the Spring semester at the end of January and I have to admit that I'm really scared. The college that I will be attending is pretty common for people who live in the area so it won't be hard for me to make friends because I will probably know a lot of people. There is just something about the new criteria and the difference between high school-level work and college-level work that scares me. I've always had outstanding grades throughout my entire educational career. I had been on the honor roll many times each year and I have even received recognition on a presidential level. There is just this insecurity in the back of my mind that has me doubting whether I will succeed in college.

I really love the major I picked (I will be majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in Photography) and I am super excited to take photography classes which is something I've loved since I got my first camera in 7th grade. Knowing that I will be taking really great classes is the only thing that is motivating me to look forward to starting school.

In the end, I obviously hope to exceed my parents' expectations because they've been let down in the past by other siblings but I'm still keeping myself happy by studying something that I love. I will keep you all posted very shortly. Enjoy your holidays and I would love some feedback!

Thank you for reading :)

First Post ♡

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first blog post! I've always wanted to start a blog, but I've never thought of a theme of what my blog should contain. I guess I should tell you about myself, right?

My name is Rosy and I am 18 years old, living in Brooklyn, New York. My parents are Dominican but I was born here, in New York. I will be starting school at York College in the spring semester (late January). I don't have many hobbies other than taking pictures and listening to music. My music taste is very "all over the place". I grew up listening to Bachata, Merengue, and Tipico (Perico Ripiao) because of my parents. I then began listening to Reggae, Hip Hop, Rap, and Reggaeton because of my sisters and older cousins. When I was about 10 or 11, I got into Rock on my own and that's all I've pretty much have been listening to since then. By rock, I mean anything of the sort. I'm not one of those who strictly generalize rock because they all pretty much evolved from the same source, if that makes any sense. But just to clear things up, the bands I have come across have been: Linkin Park, Evanescence, Paramore, Flyleaf, Nirvana, 3 Doors Down, Secondhand Serenade, Breaking Benjamin, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Of Mice & Men, All Time Low, Tonight Alive, A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, Emarosa, Dance Gavin Dance, You Me At Six, Bless The Fall, Touché Amoré, LetLive., My Chemical Romance and some others that I can't remember.
Also, sorry for random band names thrown around lol, I just typed them as they randomly popped into my head. Most of these bands I don't listen to anymore, I only liked for just one song, or I still listen to them.

This post ended up on a totally different subject than I intended for it to be, but what can you do.

I am not sure when I will post here again, so I will leave some contact information below. Goodbye, and thank you for reading :)
